Manhattan Township Trustees

The Board of Trustees serves as the legislative branch of Manhattan Township government. Every Illinois Township elects four trustees at-large and a supervisor who together comprise the Township Board. Each member has one vote on all issues brought before the Board.  Trustees are responsible for adopting the annual township and road district budgets, approving the annual levies, and inspecting monthly bills presented by the supervisor and highway commissioner.

The Trustees represent the public on the Township Board by:

  • Providing superior services and benefits to residents by monitoring the performance of routine township business while minimizing costs
  • Fiscal responsibility to determine, allocate, and oversee the expenditure of public funds in the township.
