The Manhattan Neighborhood Food Pantry was started in November 1997 as a project by the Manhattan Girl Scouts of Trailways Council to serve the communities of Manhattan and Elwood.  It is stored at the Manhattan Township Building and is open to serve families on the first and third Monday of each month from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Donations are appreciated
Our community is growing and so is the need for assistance.  Donations are appreciated and accepted by depositing items in the box located next to the entrance on the North side of building.  If you are interested in donating a monetary gift, please contact Jim Walsh, Township Supervisor, at (815) 680-5590 or mail your check to Manhattan Township Food Pantry, 230 Wabash St., Manhattan, IL  60442.  The food pantry has become a reliable and well-organized resource for families because of the dedication of local volunteers.

We understand that the food pantry is a vital part of the support system that residents can count on in a time of need; however, we ask that the food pantry is used as a temporary source of aid.  Please know ONLY ONE FAMILY PER HOUSEHOLD (ADDRESS) WILL BE ACCEPTED.
