PHASE III ENGINEERING SERVICES

The Manhattan Township Highway Department requires professional services from a qualified engineering firm to provide Construction Engineering Services for the Baker Road over Jackson Branch bridge replacement. The project will be administered by the Road District.

At this time, the Township anticipates starting this work in early 2023, with approximately twelve (12) months to complete the work.

Submittal of Proposals required electronically to jb_highway@yahoo.com no later than 12:00 PM (Noon), July 29, 2022 addressed to James Baltas.

Proposals received will be used by the Township to determine a preferred consultant for the work. The preferred consultant will be contacted by the Township.

If you plan to enter into a joint venture for this project, please note this on your proposal, including the name of the firm entering into this joint venture with you for this project.

Any questions on the project may be emailed to the Manhattan Township Road Commissioner.

A proposal received after the above noted deadline will not be considered.

Baker Road over Jackson Branch

Scope of Work

Project Description/Preliminary Scope of Services

This project consists of Phase III construction services to replace the Baker Road over Jackson Branch bridge (099-3154). The work will include the complete replacement of the structure and needed roadway approach reconstruction or reprofiling.

Baker Road over Jackson Creek – CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING PROJECT SCOPE

Tasks or requirements including, but not limited to:

• The Consultant should have an IDOT prequalification in the following categories, but a Consultant may also utilize sub-consultants as needed to fulfill these requirements:

Special Services – Surveying Special Services – Construction Inspection

Structures – Highway Typical Special Services – Quality Assurance Testing

Special Services – Public Involvement Geotechnical Services

• The named Resident Construction Supervisor (Resident Engineer) for the project shall be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois

• The Resident Engineer’s Staff should be adequately sized for the scope of the project

• The IDOT construction contract will be let at the State and will use Surface Transportation Bridge Program funds for construction

• The Resident Engineer and/or the Staff shall be able to move the project through all stages of construction, including proper documentation and Contractor payment using the IDOT Construction & Materials Management System

• The Staff shall be able to handle the reporting requirements for the existing ACOE permit

• The Staff shall be able to adequately handle required coordination with IDOT, and the public stakeholders affected by the project

• Any further requirements which may be needed to complete an IDOT Construction Engineering Agreement provisions
